Tonight, Texans watched Governor Rick Perry, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and Mrs. Debra Medina responded to questions regarding past performance, current conditions in Texas and the problems that the next Governor will face in the future of Texas.
Putting aside the rhetoric (and prejudice, as best as one can), let us try to work through the answers that were given, on a Pro and Con basis.

The material progress and prosperity of a nation are desirable chiefly so far as they lead to the moral and material welfare of all citizens. Just in proportion as the average man and woman are honest, capable of sound judgment and high ideals, active in public affairs - but, first of all, sound in their home life, and the father and mother of healthy children whom they bring up well - just so far, and no further, we may count our civilization a success.

Essentially every Conservative in America is still rejoicing about Senator-elect Scott Brown winning the "Kennedy Seat" in the US Senate. The first "hurrah" was taking the Massachusetts' election, the second "hurrah" was the belief that the Republicans now have a Filibuster control of the Senate.

This is a letter I received from the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons. They have been the "AMA Alternative" and are celebrating their 67th annual meeting this year. I have maintained contact with many physicians since my disability, and find that they are quite worried about the future. They love their jobs and the practice of medicine, but now they face a paperwork nightmare, legal danger from the government, and tremendous loss of income. One 36 year old physician I visited with this week is looking for another career. The number of physicians enrolled in MBA programs is at a record high, as they prepare to venture into areas that don't involve patient care, government harassment over legal issues, and provide a more reliable income. I think you will find the letter enlightening.
